Lived Experience self advocate
Let's talk openly about mental health. We all have it its a part of being a human being. Some of us including me have different experiences with our mental health than is classified as 'normal' I would like to begin to explain and unravel that there is no 'normal' and those of us experiencing life with the addition of a mental health condition should and could be celebrated for our lived experience not stigmatised.
Our lived experience is just as valuable as everyone else's and we should all, as a society be treated with dignity and respect.
Through this website and Blog I would like to begin to discuss and create, with your help. A new model for understanding mental health. I invite everyone to join in. Those who have had a mental health experience no matter how big or small and those who have not but are curious as to how we can begin to remove the stigma of mental health so that everyone is treated more equally in society.

A Little About Me
I have had the experience of fitting in to 'normal' society as a degree level educated individual, an NHS mental health worker on in patient wards, a Prison Officer, a Director of a Limited Company and a Triage worker at a well known mental health charity.
Ive also had the experience of being hospitalised twice through brief psychotic episodes. I have then had to rebuild my life and the first time I hid my lived experience through fear.
This time I have a determination to celebrate it and expose the discrimination which happens when someone like you and me has been admitted to hospital for our mental health.
This website and blog is also about including everyone in this discussion. Yes that's you me and everyone else. We are all part of this society now lets embrace lived experience and bring dignity and respect to the forefront.
